David Tate - CTO at fusionetics

Jessica was given the mission to take an existing product and user experience and modify it to suit an entirely different user base and user needs. Modify is not the right word, unless modifying your house means tearing it down and building it back up from scratch.

She was dealing with internal stakeholders with years of experience in three separate market spaces which could, at its worst, get in the way of success in a new market and could, at best, provide conflicting and strongly-held advice. She was critical in finding, explaining clearly, and adjusting to, what actual users thought of our product vs. what we thought. This involved presenting and rapidly prototyping ideas with stakeholders that included Executive Vice Presidents, founders, customers, potential users, and lowly C-level executives. It also involved explaining and using Design Thinking and breaking down some pre-conceived notions and delusions that we held dear. It lead to a clear product design and conclusions that allowed us to determine what we carry with us and what to drop. I was very impressed with her flexibility and scrappiness during this process and recommend her without hesitation for any role in which you need to get to the m heart of any design project: make something that works from a bunch of half-thought-through ideas.
